Well, we've spent most of 2009 writing and recording our first album. Starting off around Feb / March, we began working on one song at a time based around a few ideas we had knocking about, and then started self-recording the demo versions in our space...
Over the course of 6 months or so, we finally arrived at an albums worth of recorded demos. We then spent some time during October in San Diego, CA doing live rehearsals, pre-production and some real photography...

The last week of October, and we went into the studio in Van Nuys, CA and started the process of recording the album...

Some more studio photos on Flickr.
As of 11.22.09, we've spent 7 days total (on and off), and have live drums, bass, some keys, and guitars recorded for 10 songs. We've learned the power and magic of the ebow, and the first album is taking shape.
December, we'll begin vocals, add programming & finish all keys, before the tracks are mixed (probably in England) and we'll finally commence our mission to take over the music world bigtime.
Some new tunes that have arrived this year that have been influential:
The Streets - Skinner's Twitter tunes
Bad Lieutenant - Never Cry Another Tear
Morrissey - Years Of Refusal
The Twang - Jewellery Quarter
The Cribs - Ignore the Ignorant
Luke Haines - 21st Century Man
Chase & Status - End Credits
Delphic - Counterpoint + This Momentary
2009, the year of the sleeping monster, the sting that hasn't stung, plotting my day in the sun, more hangovers and the year Luke Haines re-surfaced. 2010 here we come bah.
